I have several taxable zero bonds that I cashed in this year, worth around 12,000, will I have to pay federal/state income tax on all of that money?

No, you don’t pay tax on the redemption amount, but on the excess of the redemption amount over the purchase price.
You should receive a form 1099-OID from the issuer or your broker which will tell you what to report as income.
“Purchaser of stripped bonds or coupons: If you purchase a stripped bond or coupon, treat it as if it were originally issued on the date of purchase. If you purchase the stripped bond, treat as OID any excess of the stated redemption price at maturity over your purchase price. If you purchase the stripped coupon, treat as OID any excess of the amount payable on the due date of the coupon over your purchase price.”

There was a Tea Party protest of about 200 people at the Minnesota capitol a couple days before US income tax forms are required to be filed. Protesters call for smaller government and the repeal of the health care law enacted in March, 2010.
Sign reads:

Labor is life, there is NO excisable/taxable privilege
in making a living to survive. Domestic Private Sector
wages are not taxable income.
The sign seems to refer to the "861 argument" that some people use to argue that their personal income is not taxable at all. The argument has uniformly been held by courts to be incorrect, and people refusing to pay income taxes based on this argument have been penalized or jailed.

A lot of people are always talking about that there’s no law that requires a U.S Citizen to file an income tax, also, there is no law that even simply states that the government has the right to tax us based on our Income…
I mean this is money that we work for, why does the government just get to take it without any real reason? Where does this money go?
I mean isn’t this the same reason the U.S Colony’s broke free from England?

Who do you think pays for al the social services such as the military, federal disaster assistance, interstate highways, national parks, research funding and so forth?
I agree we should not have to pay any more than we have to, which is why you hire a professinal to minimize it, but don’t you think you should have to pay something? Most countries have a MUCH higher tax rate than the US.
Come up with a better system or Quit your whining.

I just realized I don’t have my Berkheimer earned income tax forms completed yet. How strict is the April 15 deadline? I am not home this week and would have to drive home for my tax information. I will be going home tomorrow, so I could do it then. Is there a penalty for sending the Berkheimer forms late? All of our other tax info is done and sent out.

Huh? What are “Berkheimer income tax forms?”
The filing deadline is tonight at midnight. If you owe they will impose late filing fees (5% per month or fraction thereof until you file) plus late payment penalties and interest prorated daily until payment is made. You can avoid the late filing penalty by filing a Form 4868 by midnight tonight. Enclose a check for your estimated tax liability to avoid the late payment penalties.
If you are due a refund, you can safely ignore the filing deadline as there are no penalties for late filing if you are due a refund. If there is ANY doubt at all, file the Form 4868 right NOW.
